Omar Alam is a political scientist specialised in geopolitics and international relations, with a particular focus on South and East Asia. He holds a BA in International Relations from the University of Essex and an MSc in Conflict Studies from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Prior to joining Polint, he worked as a Fellow at the European Institute for Asian Studies (EIAS) in Brussels. There, his work focused primarily on EU-Asia relations and China-Pakistan relations, specifically in the context of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. In addition, he also worked as a Research Assistant at the Global Think Tank Network (GTTN), a think tank and policy research institution based in Islamabad, Pakistan.
At Polint, he contributes towards the company’s ongoing projects through research and analysis, particularly on EU trade policy and geopolitical developments concerning the EU.
Omar is natively fluent in English and Italian, and also speaks French and some Turkish.
